INGREDIENTS FOR SIMPLE SWEET & SAVORY ROSEMARY MAPLE CHICKEN
- 2-3lbs of chicken (I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts but this will work with other cuts as well)
Wet ingredients:
- 1/2 cup avocado oil (can sub olive oil)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Dry ingredients:
- 2 1/2 tsp dried rosemary leaves
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
How to Make Maple Rosemary Chicken?
Step 1:
Firstly, in a medium bowl or dish large enough to add chicken to later, add avocado oil, maple syrup, & red wine vinegar.
Step 2:
Secondly, add rosemary, salt, mustard powder, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir with the wet ingredients until well combined.
Step 3:
If marinating in a Ziplock, place chicken into the Ziplock then pour marinade over the top. If using a dish, add chicken to the marinade and then use a spoon to make sure the chicken is coated and cover it with a lid or foil.
Step 4:
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours if you’re making it the next day
Step 5:
Choose your cooking method:
Grilling: Preheat the grill to medium/high heat then put a small amount of oil on the grates. Put chicken on the grill and pour the rest of the marinade over the top. Grill the marinated chicken for about 5 minutes on each side or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. After that, let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Roasting: In an oven preheated to 400°F, bake the marinated chicken in the marinade in a baking dish for about 20 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Optionally, turn on the broiler for 5 minutes or until the chicken is nice and browned on top. After that, let is rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Air Frying: Add marinated chicken to an air fryer heated to 400°F and cook for 15-20 minutes depending on which cut of chicken you’re using. Chicken needs to reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Flip halfway through cooking time. After that, let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

- Make sure to use fresh rosemary leaves if possible for a stronger flavor.
- Let the chicken marinate for at least 2 hours, but for the best flavor, marinate it overnight, (usually this is what I do)
