Purple Velvet Cake

This is a beautiful Purple Velvet Cake. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching, and the taste is delicious.

Unlike the classic Velvet Cake, I decided to give mine a unique style and appearance. Since I love the color purple, I chose to make it in that shade, so you can think of it as the purple version of Velvet Cake.

This Purple Velvet Cake is just like any Velvet Cake, with soft, colorful layers of cake and cream between each one. I kept it simple by topping it with white cream frosting, but you can decorate it however you like. Adding cherries or strawberries would make the decorations even more beautiful, for sure.

The process is easy, especially if you’ve made a Velvet Cake before. Since I’m really happy with how it turned out, I’ll definitely try making it with other colors next time.

What is Purple Velvet Cake?

Purple Velvet Cake is a colorful version of the classic Red Velvet Cake, containing soft, velvety layers with a nice purple hue. It’s made from a mix of flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and buttermilk, along with purple gel food coloring. Also frosted with a creamy and smooth cream cheese frosting, The finished cake has a striking purple look with white frosting, making it both look beautiful and taste delicious.

Making the Cake Layers:

Step 1:

First, turn on the oven to 350°F (175°C) and get three round cake pans ready by greasing them and putting parchment paper at the bottom so the cake doesn’t stick.

In a big bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder with a whisk until everything is well-mixed.

Step 3:

In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla, vinegar, and purple food coloring until the mixture is a smooth, even purple color.

Step 4:

Slowly add the purple mixture to the dry ingredients, and keep stirring gently until everything is mixed but not too much, or the cake might be tough.

Step 5:

Pour the batter equally into the three prepared pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.

Step 6:

Put the pans in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, After that Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.

Making the Cream Cheese Frosting:

Step 1:

In a big bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and butter with a mixer until it’s creamy.

Step 2:

Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time while mixing on a low speed until it’s all mixed in.

Step 3:

Mix in the vanilla and keep beating until the frosting is light.

Assembling the Cake:

When the cake layers are cool, put the first layer on a plate, spread a lot of frosting on top, then put on the second layer and add more frosting.
