I love adding sprinkles on top of my Mini Sugar Cookies. This time, I used light blue sprinkles, which made the cookies look even more beautiful and delicious.

I only gave the kids a few because, believe me, if I didn’t, they would eat all the cookies, The recipe makes around 50 cookies, so make sure to store some for later enjoyment.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

How to Make Mini Sugar Cookies?

Step 1:

First, turn the oven on to 350°F (175°C). Put parchment paper on two baking trays so the cookies won’t stick.

Step 2:

In a big bowl, use a hand mixer to mix soft butter and sugar until it’s smooth. This will take about 2-3 minutes. Make sure the butter is soft so it mixes easily.

Step 3:

Now, Crack the egg into the bowl and pour in the vanilla. Mix everything together until it looks smooth. If some sticks to the side, use a spoon to scrape it down.

Step 4:

In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. add this to the butter mixture and mix until it turns into dough. Don’t mix too much so the cookies stay soft.

Step 5:

Take small amounts of dough (about the size of a marble) and roll them into balls. Place them on the baking trays, leaving space between each ball. For me, I love to press them down.

Step 6:

This is an optional step, sprinkle some sprinkles on top of the cookies before baking, I used a light blue once so they add a nice color at the end.

Step 7:

Put the trays in the oven. Bake for 8-10 minutes, Keep watching them so they don’t burn. Let the cookies cool on the trays for a few minutes. Then, move them to a cooling rack. Once they’re cool, Enjoy.
