Copycat Tubby Custard Recipe

I think everyone has watched or at least knows about the Teletubbies show, and I’m pretty sure many of you have wished for the pancakes or Tubby Custard they made on the show, with that delicious pink color.

I looked online for a recipe to follow and found many, but none seemed interesting or close to the perfect Tubby Custard.

So, I decided to create my own at home based on my experience. I got creative with the recipe and had a great time doing it.

This week has been enjoyable, especially after having fun making the Abstract Cake with the kids. Making this Tubby Custard was also a lot of fun for me.

I used whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cornstarch for the base. For the pink color, I opted for pureed strawberries. I considered using food coloring since I had some left from my last cake recipe, but I think pureed strawberries are better both for the color and the taste.

The recipe, as I mentioned, was fun, easy, and delicious. Both of my kids loved it, and you could say it’s a recipe I always wanted to make and finally succeeded with.
