  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

How to Make Crab Grilled Cheese?

Step 1:

In a bowl, add the fresh crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, and finely chopped chives. Stir everything together until the crab is well-coated with the creamy and seasoning blend. This mixture will be the heart of your gourmet grilled cheese.

Step 2:

Next, lay out your pieces and distribute the shredded sharp cheddar and Gruyère cheeses on four of the bread slices, ensuring an even layer of cheese. Then, spoon the prepared crab mixture on top of the cheese, (I put just a little, unlike cheese that I put a lot) spreading it out to cover the entire surface of each slice. Top each one with the remaining slices of bread to form complete sandwiches. Just to know I put a lot of cheese, I love my sandwich to be more cheesy and creamy from the inside.

Step 3:

Now spread softened butter generously on the outside of each sandwich slice.

Step 4:

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once it’s hot, place the buttered sandwiches in the skillet. Grill each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese melts.

Step 5:

After grilling, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute to settle. Slice each sandwich in half or quarters, and serve immediately while the cheese is still wonderfully melty and gooey. Enjoy.
