1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

First, turn the oven on to 350°F (175°C). Put parchment paper on two baking trays so the cookies won’t stick.

In a big bowl, use a hand mixer to mix soft butter and sugar until it’s smooth. This will take about 2-3 minutes. Make sure the butter is soft so it mixes easily.

Now, Crack the egg into the bowl and pour in the vanilla. Mix everything together until it looks smooth. If some sticks to the side, use a spoon to scrape it down.
